Johann Theodor Mören

Johann Theodor Mören (* 1663 ; † 1702 in Cologne ) was a German doctor, physicist and member of the Leopoldina Academic Academy .

Life

Johann Theodor Mören was a general practitioner in Koblenz, then professor of physics and medicine in Munich and Physicus in Bingen and Mittelheim. He later became Physicus in Bensheim and Physicus in the Starkenburg lordship on Bergstrasse. Eventually he became a city doctor in Linz am Rhein and court doctor to the Elector of Cologne.

Mören dealt with the Scarabaeum Vinetorum , the May beetle or also called Rabstichel , which eats off the vines and leaves of the vine.

On August 13, 1685, Johann Theodor Mören with the nickname PHOEBUS was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 143 ) in the Leopoldina.
