Johann Tobias Volkmar

Johann Tobias Volkmar (* 1718 ; † 1787 ) was a German Protestant pastor and geographer .

Life

After his work as a pastor in Petersdorf in Lower Silesia , he became a preacher , professor of theology and assessor of the consistory in Breslau . In addition to his church activities, he distinguished himself through geographical research. He became known as the author of one of the first scientific travelogues of the Giant Mountains , which was printed in 1777 .
