Johann V (Roucy)

Johann V ( French : Jean de Pierrepont ; † August 26, 1346 near Crécy-en-Ponthieu ) was Count of Roucy , Braine and Rochefort , and Lord of Pierrepont from the House of Pierrepont . He was a son of Count Johann IV. († 1302) and Johanna von Dreux († around 1325), 1323 heiress of Braine and Rochefort.

Johann worked as a royal envoy in Flanders in 1320 to resolve the dispute between Count Robert III. von Flanders and his son, Ludwig von Nevers .

He was a member of the army with which King Philip VI. moved to Flanders in October 1339 to meet King Edward III. expelled from England . On October 22nd, the armies faced each other in front of Buironfosse near Saint-Quentin without fighting. Edward III. withdrew to Brussels on the morning of October 24th . This was the first military confrontation between the kings of France and England in the Hundred Years' War . Later in the war, Johann fell at the Battle of Crécy .

He was married to Marguerite de Baumetz, heiress of Bommiers, Montfaucon-de-Poitou and Blaison. Your children were:
