Ludwig I (Nevers)
Ludwig von Dampierre or Ludwig I. von Nevers (* 1272 ; † July 22, 1322 ) was Count of Nevers from 1280 to 1322, Count of Rethel from 1290 to 1322 and heir count of Flanders . He was the son of Robert III. von Dampierre († 1322), Count of Flanders, and Jolanthe of Burgundy († 1280), Countess of Nevers.
In December 1290, he married Countess Johanna von Rethel († 1328), daughter of Count Hugo IV and Isabelle de Grandpré . Your children were:
- Johanna von Flanders (* 1295, † 1374), ⚭ 1329 Johann von Montfort , Count of Montfort-l'Amaury and Duke of Brittany
- Ludwig von Crécy (* 1304, † 1346), as Ludwig I. Count of Flanders, as Ludwig II. Count of Nevers and Rethel
After the death of King Henry VII , he was - alongside other Central European princes - one of the candidates for the Roman-German royal crown. Ludwig von Dampierre died two months before his father, so that the county of Flanders passed directly from him to his son Ludwig I.
