Johann Voigt (politician)

Johann Voigt (born January 12, 1866 in Bremen , † January 9, 1947 in Delmenhorst ) was a German worker and politician ( SPD ).

biography

After attending primary school, Voigt became a woodworker. He later worked from 1896 to 1931 as a travel agent for the Bremer Bürgerzeitung , known as the Bremer Volkszeitung from 1922 , and as a box maker.

politics

Voigt was a member of the SPD and from 1892 to 1897 district leader and from 1897 to 1916 chairman of the SPD in Bremen and a member of the central SPD party committee.

From 1894 to 1896 he was chairman of the branch of the port workers' association in Bremen.

From 1899 to 1918 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship in the 11th to 15th legislative period .
