Johann Weidenholzer

Johann Weidenholzer (born December 12, 1884 in Kallham , Upper Austria ; † October 8, 1958 in Linz , Upper Austria) was an Austrian politician ( CSP , later ÖVP ).

Life

Johann Weidenholzer only had a simple school education; After attending elementary school in Kallham, he earned his daily living as a farmer and innkeeper .

In 1919 Weidenholzer was elected mayor of Kallham; he remained so until the annexation of Austria in 1938. In December 1930 he was sworn in as a Christian Social Member of the National Council ( fourth legislative period ) in Vienna , to which he was to belong until May 1934. From 1934 to 1938 Weidenholzer was a member of the Federal Economic Council.

In 1945 Weidenholzer was able to build on his career before the Second World War . So he went again as a deputy, this time as a member of the newly founded People's Party, (the National Council V. and VI. Legislative period ) a. He was then a member of the National Council until 1953. In the period from 1945 to 1958, Weidenholzer again held the office of mayor of Kallham.
