Johann Freiherr von Callot (* 1763 in Kuttenberg ; † December 25, 1809 in Warasdin ) was an Austrian artillery officer .

Johann von Callot was a son of Major General Wenzel von Callot (1705–1785). He joined the 2nd Artillery Regiment at the age of fifteen and became a second lieutenant in April 1783. He took part in the Turkish War, was promoted to first lieutenant in January 1790 and received the Knight's Cross of the Military Maria Theresa Order after the Battle of Czettin . At Rondogi-Mangio he was briefly captured by the Turks in November 1791. After his release he became a lieutenant captain and in 1794 a captain. After the campaigns of 1799 and 1800 he became a major in the 1st Artillery Regiment on January 1, 1802. He took part in the Third (1805) and Fifth Coalition War (1809). He took part in the battles of Fontana Freddo (April 6, 1809) and the Piave , where he was seriously wounded on May 8, 1809. After he had been made colonel on September 15, 1809, he died on December 24, 1809.

He was married to Marie Magdalene Wagmuth (1774-1847), who stood out as a writer. Her two sons were the officer Eduard von Callot (1793-1862) and the civil engineer Carl von Callot (born May 16, 1806).
