Heinrich Dittel

Heinrich Dittel (* 25. September 1937 ) is a former German footballer , who from 1963 to 1971 in the then second-class Regionalliga Süd at KSV Hessen Kassel 236 league games (3 goals), mostly as a center-half in the former WM system has completed . In the debut year of the Regionalliga Süd, 1963/64 , Dittel won the championship with Kassel. The defender had started his higher-class career with Viktoria Aschaffenburg from 1958 in the soccer Oberliga Süd (19-0) and continued from 1960 to 1963 in the 2nd League South.

Career

Beginnings and Oberliga Süd until 1963

At his hometown club SV Groß-Umstadt, based in the former district of Dieburg , the schoolboy "Heiner" Dittel began playing football in the club. Before his 21st birthday, the talented defender signed a contract with Viktoria Aschaffenburg for the Oberliga Süd. With the white-blue Main Franconia Dittel made his debut on March 22, 1959 in a 0-1 home defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the then first-class Oberliga Süd. In front of 15,000 spectators in the stadium at Schönbusch , the former amateur from Groß-Umstadt stormed to the side of teammates like goalkeeper Otmar Groh and center runner Egon Horst but still on the right wing. Hessen Kassel, 1963 to 1971

In addition to defender Dittel, the former GDR national player Rolf Fritzsche came from Hamburger SV as a playmaker and the young winger Gerd Becker from FV Breidenbach joined KSV. Fritzsche was now playing at the side of his old friend Horst Assmy again . The Hessians were champions in the Regionalliga Süd and Dittel was only missing in one of the 38 association games. With 55:21 points, they relegated the high favorites FC Bayern Munich with Dieter Brenninger and Rainer Ohlhauser in the attack with three points ahead of second place in the table and moved into the first round of promotion to the Bundesliga. The Kassel team missed promotion to the Bundesliga, as did Bayern Munich's favorite team. Hannover 96 prevailed with coach Helmut Kronsbein . The first BL promotion round match Kassel lost on June 6th in front of 37,000 spectators in the packed Auestadion with 1: 2 against Hanover. Until the 1969/70 round, center runner Dittel played alongside playmaker Rolf Fritzsche. From season to season the two veterans were surrounded more and more by young talents. Fritzsche ended his high-class career at the age of 37 and the defensive rock Dittel still hung on the round 1970/71. Under coach Heinz Baas , the KSV just missed the runner-up and the second entry into the Bundesliga promotion round. Two points ahead of Kassel showed the Karlsruher SC as runner-up at the end of the round. With teammates like goalkeeper Rolf Birkhölzer , Alfred Resenberg , Holger Brück , Gerhard Grau , Reinhard Adler and Reiner Künkel , the almost 34-year-old Dittel played another 21 regional league games. A highlight at the end of his league career for "Heiner" Dittel was the DFB Cup match on December 13, 1970 against FC Bayern Munich. After the end of the round, Dittel ended his eight-year contract playing career at KSV Hessen Kassel and joined Viktoria Aschaffenburg for the 1971/72 series in the Hessenliga. After a round in Aschaffenburg, he followed the call from his hometown Groß-Umstadt and held the post of player coach at his home club SV until 1976.
