Johann von Köppen (lawyer, 1531)
Johann von Köppen (* 1531 in Treuenbrietzen ; † July 15, 1611 in Berlin ) was a Brandenburg lawyer .
Life
Johann Köppen studied law, received his doctorate from the Brandenburg University of Frankfurt and was appointed professor there in 1560. He was appointed by Elector Joachim to the Brandenburg Supreme Court and later to the Privy Council in Berlin. Emperor Rudolf II raised him and his descendants to the nobility.
His son Johann von Köppen the Younger (1564–1630), born in Frankfurt, became Vice Chancellor of the Brandenburg Elector in 1621.
