Johann von Kerssenbrock (* in the 15th century; † in the 16th century) was canon in Osnabrück and Münster .

Life

Johann von Kerssenbrock came from the East Westphalian noble family Kerssenbrock , which at the end of the 15th century divided into a Protestant and a Catholic branch. The owners of Brincke Castle were Catholic. Their family members held high spiritual offices in the Hochstifte Paderborn , Osnabrück and Hildesheim . He was the son of Johannes von Kerssenbrock zu Brincke and his wife Agnes von Adelebsen . His brother Rembert was Prince-Bishop of Paderborn . From 1528 to 1534 Johann owned a cathedral canonical in Osnabrück . On August 12, 1542, he came after the death of Philip of canon Hoerde into possession of a Münster Dompräbende . The sources do not provide any information about his further life.
