Johann von Neuhoff

Johann von Neuhoff (* unknown; † February 12, 1651 in Peine ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman, canon in Hildesheim and Münster and Drost in Peine.

Life

Johann von Neuhoff was born as the son of the Jülich head chef Stefan Neuhoff zu Horstmar and his wife Magrarethe von Canstein zu Canstein. With the receipt of the tonsure on January 17, 1602 he was prepared for a spiritual life. On November 25, 1616 he received the minor orders and shortly thereafter became a subdeacon . On June 4, 1626, Johann became canon in Hildesheim and took possession of a free Münster canon with the revolt to the Neuhoff, Quadt, Canstein and Münster families on June 25 . On May 10, 1642, Johann Drost was also in Peine and was sent by Elector Ferdinand to negotiate with Braunschweig-Lüneburg and Hesse . Johann was also owned by the Archdeaconate Stadtlohn.
