Johann von Schepenstede (*; † around 1340) was councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Johann von Schepenstede was the son of a Lübeck citizen of the same name. He is documented as councilor of the city from 1322 to 1340. From 1330 he was head of the Marienkirche in Lübeck . In 1327 he and the councilor Eberhard von Alen donated the Fünte , which is still in existence today and which was cast by Hans Apengeter . In 1338/39 he acquired the village of Offendorf (today part of Ratekau ). Schepenstede had lived in the Schüsselbuden 14 house since 1317. He was married to Gesche Morkerke. His son Johann Schepenstede also became a councilor in Lübeck in 1350.
