Johanna Bassermann

Johanna Bassermann (born February 21, 1906 in Cologne-Ehrenfeld ; † November 16, 1998 in Cologne ) was a German film and theater actress .

In 1928, after completing her acting training and taking private acting lessons with Karl Zistig in Hamburg , Bassermann was on the theater stage for the first time. Various engagements at different theaters followed. Among other things, she played at the Nationaltheater Mannheim , the Hamburger Kammerspiele , the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Mecklenburg State Theater Schwerin .

Johanna Bassermann also began a television career in the mid-1970s. She has played roles in films like King Customer and The Guardian Angel . From 1985 to 1988 Bassermann played the character "Philomena Bennarsch" in the ARD series Lindenstrasse .

Bassermann died in 1998 at the age of 92. Her grave is on the old Ehrenfeld part of the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (hallway E20 No. 74/75).
