Johanna Lachnit

Johanna Lachnit (born Höbinger, born March 27, 1914 in Vienna ; † June 3, 2011 there ) was an Austrian doctor and senior physician in Vienna.

During the Second World War and in the post-war years, Lachnit was the first to set up a mobile mothers' advisory service in cooperation with the municipality of Vienna in order to improve medical care for mothers and children in medically underserved parts of Vienna and the surrounding area. In her many years of work as an official and school doctor, Lachnit made a significant contribution to improving the health situation, especially of children. In 1974 Lachnit received the Golden Decoration of Honor for her services to the Republic of Austria on the occasion of her 60th birthday.
