Johanne Luise Heiberg
Johanne Luise Heiberg , b. Pätges , (born November 22, 1812 in Copenhagen , Denmark , † December 21, 1890 ibid) was an actress in Copenhagen during the Golden Age of Denmark.
Life
Like her contemporary Hans Christian Andersen, she came from a poor background and began her career as a ballet dancer as a child. She made her stage debut at the age of fourteen, in Johan Ludvig Heiberg's Vaudeville Aprilsnarrene . The author fell in love with her and married her in 1831. Together with her husband and his mother, Thomasine Gyllembourg , she formed the center of aesthetics in Copenhagen. Rochus Freiherr von Liliencron called her the immortal in his memoirs and described how she succeeded in converting a tiny silent role in Holberg's nursery into a theatrical cabinet play. Also Soren Kierkegaard was among the admirers of her art. After the death of her husband, she became the director of the Royal Theater . She left extensive memories and, like Rachel, is one of the great actresses of the 19th century.
Johanne Luise Heiberg is on the 200 crowns displayed -Schein the Danish National Bank.
