Johannes Andersen (astronomer)
Johannes Andersen (born August 29, 1943 in Skive ) is a Danish astronomer .
He graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a Masters in Astronomy in 1969 . In 1991 he defended his doctorate there. Since 2003 he has been director of NOTSA (The Nordic Optical Telescope Scientific Association), the association that manages the Nordic Optical Telescope on the Canary Island of La Palma .
He was Secretary General of the International Astronomical Union from 1997 to 2000.
