Johannes Führ

Rainer Johannes Führ (born January 13, 1954 in Mainz ; † August 4, 2019 in Tenerife ) was a German asset manager .

Life

Johannes Führ was born in Mainz and grew up in the Rhineland . He had been married to Ulrike Führ-Fleischer since 1975 and had four children.

Führ studied social sciences in Frankfurt am Main and graduated with a diploma. He then studied finance in New York and obtained a license from the New York Stock Exchange and other US stock exchanges. After graduating, he joined Merrill Lynch in 1980 in private banking. In 1984 he became Vice-President of Merrill Lynch Inc. New York, Director of Merrill Lynch AG Germany and in 1986 General Representative of Merrill Lynch Banque Switzerland.

In 1989, Führ founded Johannes Führ Vermögensverwaltungsgesellschaft-AG based in Basel , where he headed the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1989 to June 30, 2013. From 1996 to June 30, 2013, he was Chairman of the Advisory Board of Johannes Führ Deutschland GmbH, which from 2010 was named Johannes Führ Asset Management GmbH. From July 2013 to October 2015 he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AMF Capital AG, based in Frankfurt am Main.

Most recently, he worked as a board member and board member for various foundations and organizations whose aim is to help people help themselves.

He died as a result of a hiking accident in Tenerife .
