Johannes Frederik Fröhlich ( Johannes Frederik Frøhlich , born August 21, 1806 in Copenhagen ; † May 21, 1860 ibid.) Was a Danish composer of German origin.

Fröhlich was a violin student of Claus Schall and Friedrich Kuhlau and also trained as a flautist and pianist. From 1827 he was choirmaster and from 1836 first conductor at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen, as well as founder and first chairman of the Musical Society of Copenhagen. He composed a symphony (in E flat major , op. 33), three ballets (in collaboration with August Bournonville ), three violin concertos , three string quartets , violin and flute sonatas as well as duets and trios for flute.
