Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth

Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth (born February 23, 1966 in Heidelberg ) is a German family entrepreneur and chairman of the supervisory bodies of the Röchling Group as well as chairman of the shareholders' committee of Aluminum-Werke Wutöschingen AG & Co.KG and Richter Aluminum GmbH.

Life and work

Johannes Freiherr von Salmuth was born as the son of Wigand Freiherr von Salmuth and his wife Ingrid. von Mengersen was born in Heidelberg as the youngest of four children. He is married and has four kids. After graduating with a degree in economics from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 1993, von Salmuth worked for an auditing company and as a management consultant in Berlin until 2002. Since 2000 he has been a member of the shareholders' committee and advisory board of the Röchling Group , of which he became chairman in 2008 and 2011 respectively. From 2002 to 2018 he was a member of the Management Board of Aluminum-Werke Wutöschingen , of which he has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board since July 2018. He is also deputy chairman of the advisory board of Richter Aluminum GmbH. Since 2011, Freiherr von Salmuth has been a member of the presidium of the Association of Family Entrepreneurs, of which he was Vice President from 2013 to 2019. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Louisenlund Foundation .
