Johannes Görich (born August 24, 1958 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German radiologist and professor of radiology in Heidelberg.

Career

Johannes Görich studied human medicine in Heidelberg from 1977 to 1984 , received his license to practice medicine in April 1984 and his doctorate in internal medicine on monoclonal antibodies against B-typical non-Hodgkin lymphomas in July . After completing his studies, he began his extensive training phase.

From 1984 to 1985 he was an assistant doctor at the Medical University Clinic in Heidelberg. In 1986 he graduated from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Students (ECFMG). From 1986 to 1990 he was an assistant doctor; first in Heidelberg at the University Radiation Clinic, then at the German Cancer Research Center and finally at the University Clinic under Günter Kauffmann .

From 1991 to 1992 he was senior physician at the Radiological University Clinic Bonn in the functional area of ​​internal medicine, after which he switched to the department of neuroradiology . From 1993 to 1994 he was senior physician in charge of the University Radiological Clinic in Bonn. In 1993 Johannes Görich completed his habilitation in radiological diagnostics on the subject of intra-arterial tumor therapy.

From 1994 to 2001 he was the senior physician in charge of the Ulm University Radiological Clinic, and from 1995 he was the senior physician in charge of the Radiological Clinic. In December 1997 Görich had a rehabilitation and in 1998 was appointed associate professor for radiology at the University of Ulm.

Scientific and medical work

Already in the 1990s, Görich was significantly involved in research into interventional, minimally invasive radiology, in particular the endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms , interventional tumor therapy and the interventional treatment of bleeding. The focus of the medical work is on diagnostics in the non-invasive representation of the coronary vessels in the "lowdose" CT and MRI for prostate tumors.
