Johannes Hospinianus
Johannes Hospinianus (* 1515 in Stein am Rhein ; † June 7, 1575 in Basel ; actually Johannes Wirt , also Steinanus or Hospinianus von Stein ) was a Swiss philosopher and university professor of the 16th century, including rhetoric and logic .
Hospinianus studied at the University of Tübingen and then went to the University of Basel . There he got a job as professor of Greek in 1543 , then of rhetoric in 1544. A year later he became professor of logic.
Hospinianus was one of the first authors to elaborate on the methods of logic, which later became the field of applied logic.
