Andreas Szigat

Andreas Szigat (born September 27, 1971 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a former German swimmer .

The 1.87 m tall Szigat started for the OSC Potsdam . As third in the German Championships in 1992 over 100 meters freestyle, Szigat was part of the German squad for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona . The German four-by-200-meter freestyle relay made up of Peter Sitt , Steffen Zesner , Andreas Szigat and Stefan Pfeiffer came fourth in the Olympic final. The four-by-100-meter freestyle relay qualified with Mark Pinger , Andreas Szigat, Dirk Richter and Bengt Zikarsky as second in the second heat for the final. In the final, Christian Tröger , Dirk Richter, Steffen Zesner and Mark Pinger swam into third place behind the relay teams from the USA and the CIS. Andreas Szigat and Bengt Zikarsky also received a bronze medal for their work in the preliminary run.

In addition, Szigat and Zikarsky received the silver leaf on June 23, 1993.

Two years later, Andreas Szigat finished third in the German Championships in 1994 in the 200 meter freestyle. At the swimming world championships in 1994 , the German 200-meter freestyle relay with the line-up of Andreas Szigat, Christian Keller , Oliver Lampe and Steffen Zesner came in third behind the seasons from Sweden and Russia. In his second international bronze medal, Szigat himself competed in the final.
