Peter Sitt

Peter Sitt (born December 7, 1969 in Porz ) is a former German swimming athlete . He grew up with his parents in Kerpen - Horrem and trained at the Horrem / Sindorf swimming club. In 1984 he was "discovered" at the year-old championships of the German Swimming Association and then started for the SSF Bonn , later for the SV Rhenania Cologne and trained there until 1991 under Gerhard Hetz , in 1992 he was trained by Rainer Henkel . His greatest successes include winning the gold medal with the 4 x 200 meter freestyle relay and the silver medal with the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay at the 1991 World Swimming Championships in Perth .

At the Olympic Games in 1988 , Sitt competed in the 4 x 200 meter freestyle relay in the preliminary run, in the finals Michael Groß and Thomas Fahrner swam for Sitt and Stefan Pfeiffer and together with Erik Hochstein and Rainer Henkel took third place. All six swimmers involved in the preliminary and final received the bronze medal.

Peter Sitt has been an active member of the German Sports Aid Board of Trustees since 2013. After his active sports career, he works as an independent insurance broker.
