Oliver Lampe (born April 9, 1974 in Hanover ) is a former German swimmer who started as a dolphin and freestyle specialist for the Federal Republic of Germany . He won medals with the relay world and European champions and swam at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. After his part-time swimming career, he became an entrepreneur.

Life

Oliver Lampe is the son of Werner Lampe and nephew of Hans Lampe . He grew up in Lehrte- Arpke near Hanover and was trained by his father in the Arpke swimming club, which no longer exists. Lampe graduated from high school and then studied business administration . In the winter of 1994/95 he spent a semester abroad at the University of Tucson , Arizona . In 2010 he opened in Augsburg , together with a butcher a currywurst - Restaurant .

Sporting successes

In 1991, Lampe took part in the European Youth Championship. In 1993 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Buffalo and won two medals. In 1994 he took part in the final of the swimming world championship in Rome , where he won a bronze medal with the German relay team. In 1995 he won the European title with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay in Vienna . In 1996 he was a member of the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He swam in the run-up, later the relay won the bronze medal. In 1996, Lampe won the German championship in Braunschweig over the 100 m butterfly . In 1995, 1997 and 1998, Lampe won the German championship in Warendorf , Munich and Hamburg over the 200 m butterfly . In 2000, Lampe took part in the German Championship in Berlin.
