Johannes Hucke

Johannes Hucke (born August 19, 1966 ), grew up in Frankfurt am Main , is a German author and community worker. His around 30 book publications include novels, culinary arts, wine literature, poetry and biographies as well as 40 plays. He writes for various newspapers and magazines.

Fields of activity

Hucke is the author of numerous journalistic articles in the areas of feature pages, travel, gastronomy and wine. Since 2010 he has had a column in the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung , from 2011 to 2016 also in the Mannheim city magazine Meier . I.a. he regularly writes articles in the magazine LebensArt .

Of his 40 plays, the basement sequence, played ensuite since 2008, is the most successful. Hucke wrote libretti for three musicals with the music of Uwe Frey: In Arcadia (2003), We are sad the day after tomorrow (2005) and Lost Paradise Stories (2009), as well as over 70 lyrics and chansons. In 2005 Johannes Hucke founded the KarlsruherKinderTheater (KKT), where his own pieces were rehearsed and performed: The Little Bell Carola (2005), The Three Princesses (2007) and French Fries! The theater project resulted in poetry and theater workshops for children. In cooperation with the cultural office of the city of Karlsruhe, Hucke worked for ten years at Karlsruhe schools as part of the children's literature days. One of the main outcomes is the much-discussed children's poetry anthology Where I'm Going, I'm Going from 2012.

From 2004 to 2011 Johannes Hucke worked for the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Germany . Since 1997 he has been working as a social pedagogue and community worker for the Ecumenical Support Community Ludwigshafen, mainly in sheltered areas; the focus is on conceptual design, project development and on-site practice. In addition, Hucke is a guest lecturer at the universities of applied sciences in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim and is a co-initiator of the Ludwigshafen Housing Action Alliance .

With over 400 readings since 2007, primarily in the Frankfurt-Karlsruhe area, Hucke has contributed to cultural life. Joint appearances with several groups of musicians, especially with Uwe Frey's band Lost Paradise , take place in theaters, cultural centers, dining facilities and on wineries. As a screenwriter and member of the Mannheimer FILM authors, Hucke cooperated with NDR ( Großstadtrevier , K 3 ), HR and SWR. In the row go there! Awards

In 1987, 1989 and 1991 Johannes Hucke was awarded by the Hessian State Ministry for Science and Art for poetry and short prose. In 1993 he was represented with experimental lyric at the Open Mikes Berlin.
