Johannes Jetschgo

Johannes Jetschgo (born April 22, 1956 in Linz ) is an Austrian radio and television journalist and non-fiction author .

Training and work

Jetschgo attended the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster , where he graduated in 1974 . After studying German and history at the University of Salzburg , he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service in Germany. In 1979 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. summa cum laude . He then took on teaching positions in Salzburg and worked in the features section of the Salzburger Nachrichten .

In 1980 he began working in the ORF regional studio in Upper Austria with TV documentaries on contemporary history and natural science topics. At the beginning of regional television in 1988 he was the presenter of the show Oberösterreich heute and in 1989 he accompanied the political changes in South Bohemia with numerous television reports, which he also processed in book publications and TV documentaries.

In 1998 he became editor- in- chief at ORF Studio Upper Austria. From 2001 he headed and moderated the series Treffpunkt Kunst and Treffpunkt Wissenschaft on ORF and from 2004 he was co-editor and author of Austrian Industrial History .
