Johannes Koebberling

Johannes Köbberling (born April 23, 1940 in Lötzen ) is a German doctor . He is a deputy executive member of the expert commission for medical treatment errors at the North Rhine Medical Association . Furthermore, Köbberling is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) and of the Scientific Council of the Society for the Scientific Investigation of Para- Sciences (GWUP).

Career

After studying medicine , doing a doctorate , habilitation and professorship at the University of Göttingen , Köbberling became director of the Ferdinand Sauerbruch Clinic in Wuppertal and professor at the University of Düsseldorf in 1986 . In 2000 he was appointed chief physician at the St. Antonius Clinics in Wuppertal and since his retirement in 2005 he has headed the risk and quality management department there.

Köbberling is a member of the Medicines Commission of the German Medical Association. He was involved in drawing up the positive list for medicinal products . Since 2006, Köbberling has been Chairman of the Board of the Association of Friends and Alumni of the Bergische Universität .

Speeches and positions

Köbberling works in the Evidenzbasierte Medizin (EbM) network and speaks pointedly against unscientific treatment methods. The speech “Committed to Science”, which he gave as Chairman of the German Society for Internal Medicine (1997), should be mentioned here.
