The Ferdinand Bertram Prize is the oldest and most renowned science award of the German Diabetes Society . It is endowed with 20,000 euros (as of 2019). It is awarded annually for outstanding scientific work by a diabetologist up to the age of 40.

The prize can be shared between two submitted works if they are equal. The price work is said to have originated primarily within the German-speaking area.
