Diethelm Tschöpe

Diethelm Tschöpe (* 1958 in Bonn ) is a German diabetologist (DDG), endocrinologist , gastroenterologist and health economist . He is director of the Diabetes Center at the Heart and Diabetes Center North Rhine-Westphalia Bad Oeynhausen (University Clinic) and a professor at the Ruhr University in Bochum . He is professor of internal medicine, endocrinology and diabetology. Tschöpe is chairman of the foundation "Der Herzkranke Diabetiker" (DHD) in the German Diabetes Foundation .

Life

From 1980 to 1994 Tschöpe was a research assistant in the clinical department of the German Diabetes Research Institute at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. In 1992 he obtained his habilitation and the Venia Legendi for the subject of "internal medicine". From 1994 on, Tschöpe worked as a clinical senior physician in Düsseldorf, since 2002 also as a teacher for the European Board of Endocrinology (UEMS), before receiving the chair of internal medicine / diabetology / endocrinology at the Ruhr University Bochum in 2003 . Since 2003 Diethelm Tschöpe has been director of the Diabetes Center at the Heart and Diabetes Center NRW (HDZ NRW), Bad Oeynhausen.

He has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Moenania Munich since 1978.
