Johannes Kneppelhout
Johannes Kneppelhout , pseudonym Klikspaan (born January 8, 1814 in Leiden , † November 8, 1885 in Oosterbeek ) was a Dutch writer.
Kneppelhout studied at the University of Leiden and, through his original descriptions of university life in Student Types (1841) and Studentenleven (1844), which appeared in several volumes under the pseudonym Klikspaan, earned a first position among young writers, which at that time a new one Bringing life to Dutch literature.
The works mentioned have seen repeated editions and have remained popular to this day. His other writings (travel memories, stories, biographical and literary essays), of which he organized a complete edition (Leiden 1861–75, 12 vols.), Have made him known as a keen observer and original thinker, but still meet the expectations that his First writings excited, not quite met.
