Johannes Liesegang

Johannes Liesegang (* 1616 in Quedlinburg ; † December 3, 1660 in Osterode ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the General Diocese of Grubenhagen and the Harz region .

Life

Johannes Liesegang studied theology at the University of Helmstedt and became rector in Osterode am Harz in 1646 . There he married Anna Christine Berg, the daughter of pastor Franz Daniel Berg, and after his father-in-law was appointed first pastor in Clausthal in 1647, with the support of Landdrosten von Hodenberg, he was able to take up the parish of St. Jacobi. After the death of his father-in-law he followed him as general superintendent of the general diocese of Grubenhagen and on the Harz. On February 8, 1659, he was introduced to his office in the presence of the councils and the ministry. During his term of office, the St. Marien parish was rebuilt in Marienvorstadt after a vacancy of almost 100 years.
