Johannes Lotz

Johannes Lotz (* 1975 in Saarbrücken ) is a German painter .

Live and act

From 1995 to 2001 he studied at today's Academy of Fine Arts in Mainz with Friedemann Hahn . From 2002 to 2004 he did a postgraduate course in visual design and therapy with Gertraud Schottenloher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . In 2011 he had a teaching position at the Saar College of Fine Arts .

"With his work, Lotz stands in the great tradition of the liberation and deformation of the figurative, which in the genre of panel painting from El Grèco to Tizian, Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Caim Soutine to Francis Bacon and Maria Lassnig into the present enough to name just a few examples.
