Johannes Prüter

Johannes Prüter (* 1957 ) is a German biologist , head of the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve and honorary professor at the University of Lüneburg .

Prüter has been the head of the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve Administration since 2005.

Life

Prüter studied biology and geography for teaching at the University of Hanover . Immediately after his state examination he worked scientifically on the avifauna of the North Sea . After receiving his doctorate in 1986 and his dissertation with the title Investigations into the population structure and ecology of the gulls (Laridae) in the sea area of ​​the German Bight , he worked for the Jordsand Association. In 1988 he switched to the Nature Conservation Academy in Schneverdingen . He then worked for 16 years in the Lower Saxony state service as deputy director of the Alfred Toepfer Academy for Nature Conservation in Schneverdingen. In 2005 he became head of the office in Wendland .
