Johannes Raab

Johannes Raab (born April 3, 1826 in Kirdorf ; † October 31, 1881 ibid) was a Hessian-Homburg politician and member of the state parliament of Hesse-Homburg .

Life

Raab was the son of the stocking weaver Johann Dietrich Raab (* March 2, 1792 in Kirdorf; † October 18, 1850 there) and his wife Eva nee Schwind (* around 1784; † June 3, 1860 in Kirdorf). Schwind, who was a Catholic denomination, married Anna Maria, born in Kirdorf on September 20, 1849 (born February 28, 1827 in Kirdorf), the daughter of Johannes Bender II.

Raab attended the Kirdorfer elementary school and then initially worked as a stocking weaver. Raab 1848 was commune, 1848-1850 Schultheiß and 1850 to 1867 (according to Raab / Ohmeis to end of life) mayor of Kirdorf. In the election for the first Landtag of Hessen-Homburg, Heinrich Will was elected to the Landtag for the constituency of Kirdorf, Oberstedten.

He is buried in the Kirdorf cemetery on Friedensstrasse.

His eldest son, Heinrich Raab (* March 7, 1847, † November 30, 1912) also became mayor of Kirdorf after his death. He was the last mayor before Kirdorf was incorporated.
