Johannes Reichelt (politician)

Johannes Reichelt (born June 25, 1904 in Steinpleis ; † November 15, 1995 in Damme ) was a German politician (SPD) . He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

After completing eight-grade elementary school, Reichelt learned the metalworking trade. Reichelt later worked in the textile industry and, after retraining, worked as a payroll clerk. During the Second World War, he spent three years as a soldier in Norway, repairing radar equipment, followed by two years in captivity. After the war, I worked for three years as a tug in ore mining underground. He later worked as a warehouse manager in the former Damme ore mine . Reichelt was married and had two children.

Reichelt was a member of the Damme local council from April 3, 1961 to October 31, 1981, and from 1964 to 1976 of the Vechta district council . From April 15, 1965 to June 5, 1967, Reichelt was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament in the fifth electoral term . He was the first parliamentarian of the SPD in the Oldenburger Münsterland, which was dominated by the CDU .
