Johannes "Jojo" Rose (born July 5, 1983 in Bielefeld ) is a German professional base jumper . He grew up in Bielefeld in North Rhine-Westphalia and currently lives in Berlin . The skydiving instructor and tandem master has dedicated himself to base jumping, i.e. parachuting from solid objects, since 2003.

He made his first base jumps in 2003 from a 100 m high motorway bridge. So far he has completed 1,000 base jumps and 2,300 parachute jumps. His most spectacular jumps include a. the 10-way Indoor Guinness World Record , which he organized and participated in on January 31, 2005 ; a simultaneous jump of 10 people in a building, the Tropical Islands Dome south of Berlin.

In May 2006 Rose secured 3rd place out of 30 participants in the German Base Cup, which also took place in the Tropical Islands Dome . In May 2007 he and 14 friends jumped from ten different buildings in Frankfurt am Main on one day . The team thus secured a new world record. Rose was invited as part of the show program on the occasion of the Skyscraper Festival . In August 2007, an international team of 20 jumpers, including Rose, was invited to travel through Malaysia for four weeks to jump from buildings in five cities.

In January 2008 Rose organized and participated in the Indoor Base World Cup. He finished 10th out of 58 participants. However, he was the best among the jumpers who manually deployed their parachutes on all six jumps. As a result, he had much less time than everyone placed in front of him, who automatically opened their parachute to prepare for the target landing.

On July 26th, 2008 he was the first person to jump from the bastion in Saxon Switzerland . He automatically opened his parachute, which was necessary due to the low height of less than 60 m. Preparations for this jump took about two months.

In October 2008 Rose was invited on an expedition to central China to jump in a 662 m deep cave. A wire rope was stretched across it, on which a chair of a ski lift hung and to which pulleys were welded. The chair was moved to the center of the cave by means of a winch so that it was possible to jump from there. In addition to the jumps, Rose and two other jumpers managed to show trapeze art on a circus trapeze , which was hung on the wire rope. With this, the three secured a world record for the highest trapezoid act on a fixed object. On November 12, 2009, this was also recognized by Guinness World Records as 'the highest static trapeze act'.

On October 15, 2008 Rose jumped from the gondola of the Eibsee cable car that leads up to the Zugspitze . He got approval for this jump just the day before. He was the first base jumper to jump out of the gondola.

In 2011, Rose ran over the horizontally positioned 35 m long rotor blade of a wind power plant in Germany , jumped from its trailing edge at a height of about 95 above the ground and was in the air for about 18 seconds.
