John Saalfeld (* 9. March 1982 in Eisenach ) is a German politician of the Greens . After the state elections in 2011, he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania until 2016.

biography

After graduating from high school, Johannes Saalfeld studied political science, sociology and public law at the universities of Jena and Rostock (from 2002). Since then he has been a doctoral student at the University of Rostock. From 2006 to 2008 he was Vice Rector for Student Affairs at the University of Rostock .

politics

Saalfeld has been a member of his party since 2006. Since 2009 he has been a member of the board of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional association . Until 2011 he was managing director of the parliamentary group Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Rostock. In the election on September 4, 2011 , he was elected to the state parliament via the state list place 6. His political priorities are university politics and domestic politics.
