Johannes Schiehsl

Johannes Friedrich Schiehsl (born March 11, 1984 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian animation director .

Life

After studying at the Zlin Film School and the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, in 2011 he founded the group "New Austrian Animated Film" together with Conrad Tambour and Benjamin Swiczinsky . In 2009 he created the main trailer for the International Animated Film Festival in Stuttgart "Zoopraxiscope", which received many international awards. His short animated film 366 Days with the voices of radio presenter Hosea Ratschiller and Austrian cabaret artist Peter Hörmanseder was awarded prizes at the following film festivals :

  • Content Award Vienna 2011: 1st place in the "Characters" category
  • FBW short film of the month
  • Film Show Baden-Württemberg: Best Animated Film

In 2012 he was awarded the Lower Austrian Culture Prize by Erwin Pröll . In 2013, together with Benjamin Swiczinsky, he directed the animation for the film " Zweisitzrakete " by Hans Hofer. In 2014 he created animation sequences for the Austrian films "Diplomatische Liebschaften", "Gruber Geht", "Der Vampir auf der Couch" and "Macht Energie". He also worked as a director on the international TV series "Hexe Lilli" until 2014 for the third season.
