Johannes Weidenbach

Johannes Weidenbach , complete: Johannes Georg Traugott Weidenbach (born November 29, 1847 in Berlin , † June 28, 1902 in Leipzig ) was a German pianist and university professor.

Life

Johannes Weidenbach was a son of the teacher Georg Gustav Weidenbach (1813–) and his wife Emilie Therese, geb. Schweitzer. The architect Georg Weidenbach was his younger brother. He grew up in Dresden and attended the Kreuzschule .

From 1869 to 1871 he studied at the Conservatory in Leipzig, today's University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig . Since 1873 he has been teaching piano here.
