Johannes Wendel Kirchner
Johannes Wendel Kirchner (* 1628 in Kiedrich , Hesse; † 1709 there) was a German organ builder .
He completed his apprenticeship with Georg Geißel , who belonged to the famous Mainz organ building school. After that, he first traveled within the region. In 1652 he renovated the Kiedrich organ . He carried out further repair work in Eltville , Wiesbaden ( Mauritius Church ) and Mainz ( St. Stephen's Church ).
This was followed by a five-year commitment in Bad Marienberg (Westerwald) . There he also built an organ and also worked as a teacher for three years before returning to Kiedrich. An attempt to bring him back to Marienberg in 1666 failed because he had meanwhile made it to the mayor of Kiedrich.
His sons Christoph and Johann Heinrich later took over his business.
