The Johanneskirche is located in the Grund district in Luxembourg (city) .

history

The Johanneskirche, also called St. Johann auf dem Stein , is mentioned as early as 1309 in the founding deed of Count Heinrich VII . At the same time as the Neumünster Abbey , a new building was built in 1606. The church was given its current form between 1688 and 1705.

Furnishing

Worth seeing are u. a. the organ from 1710 and the Black Madonna . This miraculous image of the black mother of emergency from the 14th century comes from the Parler school in Cologne .
