history

The former community of Wilmersdorf of the Johannische Kirche was founded on January 2, 1927. They first gathered in the auditorium of the Viktoria-Luise-Schule in Gasteiner Strasse , later in a cinema on Nikolsburger Platz . On January 17, 1935, the Secret State Police banned the church, and the community banners, altar items and writings were confiscated from the Wilmersdorfer community. In Wilmersdorf, after the Second World War, on February 3, 1946, the “Main Community of Berlin” was re-established, which initially gathered in the auditorium of the Hildegard Wegscheider High School in Lassenstrasse . Since 1957, the Grunewalder St.-Michaels-Heim at Bismarckallee 23 has been the focus of church work for the Federal Republic of Germany and West Berlin . The former Palais Mendelssohn became the St. Michaels-Heim (St. Michaels-Heim) center in 1964–1967 - and cultural work rebuilt and expanded.
