architecture

The leisure home for middle school students saw itself as a robust shell for a wide variety of educational activities with partly defined uses and partly open-space areas. The load-bearing structure of the shell was removed by the students in their free time. The unplastered shell allowed changes to the surface.

The house had four floors connected by a staircase. There was a jazz bunker and bowling alleys in the basement, a multi-purpose hall on the ground floor with a higher ceiling, and group rooms, a chapel and so-called discussion caves on the first floor. On the 2nd floor there was a gym with light from above.

The unpretentious architecture of the house reflects the educational vision of its founder, Father Sigmund Kripp. says Friedrich Achleitner (1980).
