Thomas Krokvik Solberg (born January 25, 1970 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian football player .

Career

Thomas Solberg was born in January 1970 in the Norwegian capital Oslo. He started his football career about 60 km south of Oslo at Moss FK . Then the defender was under contract with Viking Stavanger for a few years . In August 1999, Solberg moved to Scotland for Aberdeen FC for £ 300,000 . Previously, the club had signed his compatriot Cato Guntveit von Brann Bergen . With Arild Stavrum there were three Norwegians in the Aberdeen squad from the 1999/2000 season . Solberg made his debut on August 29, 1999 in the league game against FC St. Johnstone . In his first season in Scotland, he made 26 league games and scored four goals. With the Dons, Solberg was bottom of the table in the Scottish Premier League . Since the league was increased to twelve teams for the following season, Aberdeen held the league as tenth in the table. In the Scottish Cup he and his team lost 4-0 in the final against Glasgow Rangers in the same year . In the two following seasons 2000/01 and 2001/02 he was used 20 and 10 times. In 2002 Solberg returned to Norway for Moss FK. A short time later he ended his career.
