John Andrew Boyle

John Andrew Boyle ( 1916 - 1978 ) was a British orientalist . He was Professor of Persian Studies at Manchester University . One of his best-known works is his translation of the story of the conqueror Genghis Khan written by Ǧuwainī (in Boyle's spelling: Juvaini ) .

In the Cambridge History of Iran , he published the volume on the Seljuks and the Mongol period.
