John Anthony Dew

John Anthony Dew (* 1950 ) is a British diplomat . Since 2008 he has been the British Ambassador to Colombia .

Life

Dew joined the foreign service in 1973. In 1975 Dew was in Tunja Boyacá . From 1975 to 1978 Dew was first third and later second secretary of the embassy in Caracas. From 1979 to 1983 Dew was in London in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office - FCO From 1983 to 1987 Dew was delegate of the British government to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and in Paris Development (OECD) with the salary of a first secretary. From 1987 to 1992 Dew was in the FCO, Deputy Head of the Republic of Ireland , Falkland Islands and Resource Management Department. From 1992 to 1996 Dew was in Dublin, Deputy Head of the Embassy. From 1996 to 1999 Dew was in Madrid, deputy head of the embassy with the salary of a minister. From 2000 to 2003 Dew was in the FCO, head of the Latin America and Caribbean department. From 2003 to 2004 Dew was seconded to Lehman Brothers investment bank in London . From 2004 to 2008 Dew was British Ambassador to Cuba . Dew has been the British Ambassador to Colombia since 2008. John Dew is married and has three daughters.
