John Beghin

John Christopher Beghin (born April 17, 1954 in Brussels ) is a Belgian agricultural economist . He is a professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln .

Life

Beghin graduated from the Université Libre de Bruxelles with a degree in economics in 1978. From 1979 to 1981 he worked for the International Labor Organization in Thiès . In 1983 he received an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from North Carolina State University . He received his doctorate in 1988 from the University of California, Berkeley . From 1988 to 1998 Beghin taught at North Carolina State University. He was at Iowa State University from 1998 to 2016 and returned to North Carolina State University in early 2017. Beghin has been with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 2019 . Beghin was visiting scholar or professor at the OECD , the University of Sydney , and the Institut national de la recherche agronomique .

Beghin is married and has one child.
