John Berkey

John Berkey (born August 13, 1932 in Edgley, North Dakota , † April 29, 2008 in Excelsior, Minnesota ) was an American painter .

Berkey worked in the state of Minnesota . He began as a draftsman of motifs for historical calendars and designed space motifs for NASA before he began to draw book covers for Ballantine Books in 1972 . From then on, his artistic activity was in the field of science fiction painting. He became internationally known as a poster painter for the Star Wars film trilogy by George Lucas , Flaming Inferno , King Kong and other films.
