John Bernard Taylor

John Bernard Taylor ( May 6, 1929 - June 1, 2016 in Berkhamsted , England ) was a British Anglican bishop and theologian.

life and career

Taylor graduated from Christ's College at the University of Cambridge .

In 1975 he was called to be archdeacon of West Ham. From June 14, 1980 until his retirement in 1995 he was Bishop of St. Albans . From 1988 to 1997 he was part-time Lord High Almoner .

In his capacity as Bishop of St. Albans, Taylor served as Spiritual Lord in the House of Lords from 1985 to 1995 .

Since the 1960s, Taylor has written several specialist and popular science books on a wide variety of subjects.
