John Bevere (born June 2, 1959 ) is an American Christian evangelist , evangelical Bible school teacher and author.

Life

Bevere worked in the 1980s and 1990s under the controversial charismatic Benny Hinn in Orlando, Florida as a youth pastor and then as Hinn's personal assistant. He finds himself in the same circles as many followers of the “ Word of Faith ” movement, but attaches importance to the fact that his teaching is clearly different from it.

John Bevere and his wife Lisa have been ministering together since 1990. That year they founded John Bevere Ministries . This organization has developed into a service with an international reach.

They live in Colorado Springs and have four sons named Addison, Austin, Alec (Alexander) and Arden.

criticism

It is Beveres' concern that people orient themselves entirely to the Bible , which clearly reveals God's will . He does this through his preaching and lecturing ministry in many churches in the United States and around the world, on the Internet, and through his books. Critics like Robin A. Brace, on the other hand , accuse Bevere of legalism , elements of the prosperity gospel and a proximity to the charismatic movement. He also does not set himself apart clearly enough from his former and controversial boss Benny Hinn.
